Billions Of Stars

Our galaxy is called the Milky Way and is made up of billions of stars.  Outside our galaxy according to scientists are what could be hundreds of billions of galaxies.  And within those galaxies are also billions of stars.  That’s billions upon billions upon billions of stars and even more beyond the galaxies we know.  We cannot and will not ever be able to accurately calculate or know the exact number of stars. But there is someone who can count the stars. Our Creator and Lord!  He not only knows them by number, because He says not one is missing, but He even names them.  That’s a lot of names to remember!  God is beyond our understanding, our intellect and our power.  He is all powerful and strong- mighty is our God!

How incredible that God knows the stars by name and not one is missing! That reminds me of Psalm 139:17:

“How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!  How vast is the sum of them!”

Just like the billions of stars in the galaxy are the number of thoughts the Lord has towards us.  He thinks about us that much because he truly loves us that much!

Each By Name

God also knows us by name and we are not lost.  We are found in Him. Even when we feel like He’s not there, perhaps we are lonely and depressed, Jesus is reminding us from above:

“You are not missing. You are not alone. If I count the stars, name them, and know exactly where they are, then I do the same for you and so much more!”

“You know when I leave and when I get back; I’m never out of your sight.”
