Encouragement for your walk with God

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” -John 14:6

Holy Spirit

My favorite season of the year is fall.  The trees display beautiful, bright colors of red, orange and yellow. Sometimes the leaves even look like they’re on fire.  I believe it’s a great reminder of the Holy Spirit and how God sets us on fire by his Spirit.  Ironically, The Bridge has a waterfall, which would normally put out fires, but in this picture the water represents the Living Water of God, who is Jesus.  It was Jesus’ life that was poured out for us and because of his obedience to death and the resurrection, the Holy Spirit has come to dwell inside of us.

The Bridge

The brown, wooden bridge is the only man-made image in the artwork, and Jesus was also man-made.  He was born of a virgin and born of the Holy Spirit.  He was fully man and fully God.  Jesus is the bridge.  He’s the one who connects us to Father God and to heaven.  Without Jesus we wouldn’t have eternal life – a relationship with the Father and the Son – or the opportunity to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Through The Bridge I wanted to show the wonder and beauty of God in nature. It’s a realistic picture of creation that points towards a Creator.  Each image (the sky, the leaves, the rainbow, the waterfall, the rocks, the bridge) is a symbol and represents something about our amazing God.

I’m thankful for all of the seasons, but especially the fall season, and how God lets us see Jesus and the Holy Spirit through it!

“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” – John 17:3

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6

“You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”
– Luke 11:11‭-‬13
