“God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” -1 John 5:11

Bright Morning Star

Jesus is the bright Morning Star and the creator of all the stars (Revelations 22:16; Genesis 1:14-19).  He is called the Light of the world and created all light within our universe.

The Light Of Life all began with the photograph of a light bulb.  By reshaping the filament in PhotoShop, I was able to transform it into a cross.  This artwork can be summed up in one phrase:  Jesus is the light of life.  After completing The Light Of Life, I noticed inside the bulb what appeared to be stars or galaxies in space.  The dust particles from my photograph gave it that cool effect!  Then God reminded me that Jesus created all of those beautiful lights and set them in motion.  How amazing!

Look To Him

John 1:3-5 says, “Through him (Jesus) all things were made…In him was life, and that life was the light of men.”

First of all, Jesus is the creator.  He made all things, including the stars (Genesis 1).

Secondly, Jesus is the life (John 14:6).  And through him we can have eternal life.  “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11).

Lastly, Jesus is the light of men.  Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).

There is no brighter light than Jesus!  He shines in the darkness and He is “the true light that gives light to every man” (John 1:9).  He gives us The Light Of Life because he is the light of life!

May we trust in Jesus- the creator, the life, and the light of men.  Let’s look to Him who shines bright for all to see!

I really like the image of the light bulb with the cross, and the stars representing the universe. However, below the cross, I can see the image of a figure that looks like a king wearing a robe, with the face of a lion. There is a red line that is extended toward the bottom of the bulb. To me the figure represents Jesus, the King, the lion of Judah. The red line could be the blood he shed on the cross for everyone. Very good, Curtis.

Wow! That’s amazing the image of King Jesus in the light bulb! I never saw that until you mentioned it. Thank you for sharing all of your thoughts and how God spoke to you through this piece. God bless!

Cool image! And it is interesting that it looks like water and blood under the cross. I like the dust stars and I like the shape of the cross.

I appreciate your comment Sheena. It was a really fun project! The water and blood under the cross was not planned but I’m glad that the picture turned out that way. God is good!
